Our contribution to circularity

RECYC'ELIT transforms the current consumption model of the textile industry, which is now linear (produce, consume, discard) into a circular model (produce, consume, recycle), making it possible to produce endlessly virgin quality materials, with a low carbon footprint.

Company created in 2019

Founded in 2019, Recyc'Elit's mission is to revolutionise textile recycling through its innovative and eco-friendly approach.

15 employees at the end of 2024

Our team of 15 people, united by common values, works every day to transform the textile sector and reduce its environmental impact.

10 to 30 tons of waste treated per year from 2025 using a pre-industrial demonstrator

With our pre-industrial demonstrator, we plan to treat 10 to 30 tons of textile waste per year, contributing to a more circular economy.

More than 3 million euros raised since the creation of the company

Thanks to strategic fundraising, Recyc'Elit has consolidated its resources to innovate and extend its environmental impact.

Our history

Fondateurs
Before 2019

A bit of context

The adventure was initiated by two brothers: Raouf & Karim MEDIMAGH, both doctors in chemistry, one university professor in Tunisia, the other CEO of a company next to Lyon.

By talking, they became aware of the need to find a solution to recycle polyester-based plastic packaging. Raouf developed a first version of the depolymerisation process and then demonstrated to Karim, not in a garage, but in their mother's summer kitchen.

Spring 2019

The creation of Recyc'Elit

After some research into the state of the art, they realised the innovative aspect of this process and decided to create Recyc'Elit in spring 2019. The first years, works were carried out at the laboratory scale and on plastic.

2019 - 2022

First promising results

Gradually, the scale increased and the first tests were carried out on 10L and 30L pilots.

2025

Pre-industrial demonstrator

In 2025, a pre-industrial demonstrator will be implemented with a treatment capacity of between 10 and 30 tons of waste per year. This demonstrator will provide a proof of concept at significant scale.

First factory

This will enable us to have an operational demonstration plant by the end of 2028.

Our founders

Recyc'Elit, Yes we chem!

Our founders, with proven experience in research and fully active in industries, decided to use their knowledge and experience to tackle the problems of textile recycling.

Thanks to our innovative approach to the recovery of industrial by-products and taking into account the joint commitment of governmental and industrial authorities, we were motivated to find a viable and effective solution to preserve our beautiful planet from this waste.
